Each year I could easily read twenty-five to thirty 400 page + novels in a year.
I don't remember when I stopped reading novels so much.
Perhaps it was when we started homeschooling and I was too busy??
I have not been... physically... hmmm... up to standard recently. The down time was unavoidable.
There are been a few books floating around the house for awhile that I have wanted to read and I finally had enough free time to read them. Thankfully my hands were strong enough to hold a book (most of the time) and lying down helps control my twitching (usually).
Anyway, these books were so good :)
I especially ♥ historical novels and two of the three listed below are about real people from history.
This is the order that I read them in and I think the order helped with my understanding. Most homeschooling families will recognize these titles and chances are your children have read these.
If you haven't yet... I highly recommend!!
• The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare (author of the Bronze Bow)
• Captain, My Captain by Deborah Meroff
• Carry On, Mr. Bowditch by Jean Lee Latham
Bonus: Our new read aloud is Amos Fortune, Free Man and not one person in our house has read it before!
That is shocking... and exciting because we get to experience it together.
We read Chapter One tonight and it was so good.
Have you read any of these? Are you guys reading anything good??? Do tell...
