Getting Y'all Up To Speed

{I'm feeling rather Tigger-y today}

Maybe it's because it has been rather blustery around these parts.

I have been spontaneously bursting into...

"Hum, dum, dum, dee, dee, dum
Hum, dum, dum
Oh the wind is lashing lusterly
And the trees are thrashing thrusterly
And the leaves are rustling gusterly
So it's rather safe to say
That it seems that it may turn out to be
It feels that it will undoubteadly
Looks like a rather blustery day today,"

Wow... where did that come from??

{Whistling nonchalantly...}

School?  What's that??!!  Hahaha

Seriously... we haven't done school all week.  We needed to regroup, clean, play Legos, watch movies, and enjoy each other.

We'll be back at it next week with Week 7 of our curriculum, but for this week... we're just gonna breathe slowly and deeply :)

I don't know who to thank exactly, but I'm sure that it must be a lot of you.

(Lainie, what are you talking about?)

Right!  Let me clarify...

(This could be a bumpy ride-- I'd buckle up if I were you :)

So... way back when... I don't even know what made me do this... but in November of 2008 I made a little video that I dubbed a "Midnight Chat."

I didn't know if I would ever do another one.

I did. And they have been "stored" on Tangle/GodTube.

I haven't done a Midnight Chat in awhile so I haven't had need to log into my account.

I logged in a few weeks ago and discovered something that truly overwhelmed me.

That little video has been viewed almost 2,500 times and the whole series of videos have been watched over 13,000 times.

And then I remembered... our God loves to use the weak and the foolish.

Ta-dah!  I'm qualified :)

Back in May, I uploaded those videos onto iTunes because there were a few people that wanted them downloadable so they could have them on their iPods.

I submitted them and really didn't think too much about it.  There are thousands, upon thousands of podcasts/videocasts out in iTunes land.

Being an "acts of service" kind of person, I simply wanted to make it easier for those that already watched them to download the videos.

Now, this is a mixed blessing for sure.  But, my podcast "host" installed a stat counter on May 31,10 that displays the stats for each channel automatically.

Which means, I have to see them whether I want to or not.

This next part is cRaZy to me.

On iTunes alone... not Tangle... and not here on the embedded videos... just on iTunes since May 31, those videos have been viewed almost 10,000 times.

Why am I sharing this??

Hmmm, good question.

I think first I want to say, "Thank you" for being here.

I'm just a woman, wife, and mommy that loves her Jesus with her whole heart.

I have no degree, no training, and no qualifications that can be written on a certificate and hung on a wall.

I have student loans but that's another story!

But I do have...
 wounds that have been healed,

prayers that have been answered,

and a God that wants to make Himself known to people that He loves so very much.

(Right turn, hang on...)

In July, we had a homeschool mom meeting and I felt utterly compelled to record the devotional portion on audio and post it.

It turns out doing audio-only is a little tricky.

I stayed up all night trying to figure out how to do it... for free.

And then I beat myself up for staying up all night as I collapsed into bed.

I mean really... who cares, right?

I woke up to find this message in my 'Inbox':

"Encouraged, and I will share it with others.
Thank you for figuring all the techie stuff out.
It was more important than you will ever know.
 You are a dear."

And once again I am reminded that I have no idea what God is doing in hearts.

I only know that I am to obey.

(Right turn again...)

After discovering how to post audio and noticing how much smaller the files are (which means less expensive to store) the idea occurred to me to podcast.

I have heard from more than a few that although they like the Midnight Chats they are long and it's hard to take that much time when life is calling and diapers need changing and meals need cooking.

So I prayed and chatted with my hubby and we decided that just one verse at a time, brief but thoughtful, would be good.

That is how "Pause and Ponder" was born.  The biblical word, "Selah," found in the Book of Psalms means just that-- to pause and to ponder.

I submitted the second "channel" to iTunes for approval just before leaving for church on a Thursday.
My prayer before I left was to have confirmation that this was, indeed, what He would have us do.

When I came home from church, I had the email from iTunes stating the channel was approved and noticed something rather strange.

There were already subscribers... to a channel that I, myself, just learned I had.

How is that possible??  Only God that's how.

(deep breath)

So... what's my point again?  Oh yes, I have no idea who to thank for being supportive and listening to what God has laid on my heart.

But I do thank you.

I did feel led to make a special place for them.

"Pause and Ponder," has a brand new home.  I hope you'll visit sometime.

For those that have watched (or attempted to watch :) our church women's retreat and have encouraged me...

thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You have no idea.

I wasn't going to post the videos here... Karl said to... so I did.

And then you have all been so kind...

It makes me teary.

I wish there was something "bigger" than Thank You...

(Last right turn, I promise!)

I have a surprise for you... there is a "new kid" in this town called, "Blogosphere."

She is almost ready to be "unveiled."

It gives me such a tickle :)

I can't wait to share...

But until then, I hope you have a wonderfully blessed weekend.
