2 Houses, 3 Families, 13 People, 12 Days, and... 1 Case of Chicken Pox!

Well Hello There!

Remember me?  I used to blog here!

Can we say "busy" boys and girls?

Busy but fun... so much fun...

I don't know if you know this, but I meet people on the

{insert dramatic music here}

Yikes! Gulp!

Yes, a year ago we went to Hawaii and while there met the family belonging to
"Now Boarding Gate 3"

In keeping with the blog name, they have now moved from Hawaii to Alaska.

Ah, but on the way from Hawaii to Alaska is a convenient little stop over called,

my house.

{insert cheesey grin}

What started out to be a 5 day trip turned into 12 days as a certain member of Team Hawaskan (Hawaii-Alaskan, get it?) came down with the chicken pox.

What a blessing chicken pox turned out to be!

Now, keep in mind, I met Mom Tammi on the My Father's World message board.

A few emails here and there.

But we found ourselves in Hawaii last year so we met for fun at the hotel pool... which led to dinner... and dessert... and walking and talking... and something like 8 hours later we were heading to our room and they were headed home with both families feeling like we've known each other forever.

(You may remember the coconut post.)

We kept in touch with Facebook... and that is where I first learned they were moving.

So, all this to say we didn't know each other all that well.

But now?  Oh, now we're family!

In fact, I can prove it-- here is a picture of me with their son.

Doesn't he look like he could be my little brother?

Little photo op at the top of Multnomah Falls.

Um... I still don't know quite what was happening here, but I am pretty sure I started it...

All my kids!!!  Well, okay, I did have to give four of them back to their actual parents.

This was taken the morning they flew off to Alaska.  Someone (my son) was very, very sad :(

An insane tournament of Spoons!  The Team Kamps were the final victors.
Re-match!  Re-match! Re-match!

We had lots of beautiful music in our house...

Hmmm... Papa made an anchor and I can't even begin to explain all they did with it!

The Roommates!  Oh, I should say, "The Roommates That Hardly Slept!"

Teary good-byes... but isn't the scarf fabulous?  AC made that while she was here :)

I never thought Abby would let him go...

Okay so now that you've seen what we've been up to, I hope you'll understand the bloglessness!

I had hoped to start school this Monday, but all things considered I think we'll shoot for Thursday.

There are also a few more posts I had wanted to put up in response to some emailed questions I've had.

Hopefully I can get my act together over here :)

I hope all of you are doing well... have you started school yet?  If not, when?

What a blast! We had a wonderful, magnificent, relaxing, blessed time at your house being loved on and pampered by the Mags, and Nana and Papa. Chicken Pox were the best blessing of the visit. Next time the party's at my house, 'kay?

I was wondering where you were. Glad everything's ok. Once school starts, I'm sure we will all be back in full force on the blogs. :)

What an awesome example of how God blesses us with other people when we allow our schedule, home, life and whatever else to get a little messed up. School will happen, but what a blessing relationships are!!

Love the Missouri Qs

Reading this as Tammi sent me a link :o) At least I know why I hadn't heard that they'd arrived up here safe and sound.

I wonder if any chicken pox germs travelled up with them....I've got 2 little ones that could use the exposure!
