A Simple Woman's Daybook

For today... November 23rd, 2009

Outside my window...
a beautiful but chilly day. It's also calm which is nice after the storm this weekend.

I am thinking... how amazing God is to produce fruit in our lives. Pruning never feels good- at first. But when we allow Him to cut the "dead" things away from our lives, we really will bear fruit. I think it's just hard after the pruning but before the fruit bearing when we just feel "bare." :)

I am thankful for...
the group of Moms that gathered together Sat morning to pray, the hard work of my children and hubby, and all the extra help I had this weekend from our friend Moriah, and of course, Nana, and Papa.

I am wearing...
a long (to the floor) zippered, hooded, giant pocketed polar fleece robe-y thing that Nana bought me. It's very cozy and perfect for today since I don't feel great.
There is a rumbly in my tumbly.

I am going... blissfully, wonderfully-- no where. I am close to desperate for some down time.

I am reading...
Footsteps of the Flock and the Book of Hebrews.

I am praying... I was praying for direction as to whether or not to give up blogging.
After a long chat with the hubby, I will continue for now. Although, I must say, that I have been incredibly productive after withdrawing from Facebook a few weeks ago.

I am hoping... to purge even more stuff. I really want our home to be simple.

I am creating... a little sweater for a sweet, little peanut at church :)

Pondering these words...
"Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. " Hebrews 2:1

And 2:11-"For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren..."

From the kitchen...Leisl made detergent all by herself last night! I was so proud of her :)

Nana and Brigitta put their heads together and made a menu for this week. I am very grateful.

Around the house...
I am happy to report that for the first time in about three weeks, we actually got all the laundry finished today. The library room looks good with the extra bookcase we picked up this weekend. Our loft is now our "creative" place. I am hoping to truly learn how to sew well. The living room looks good. The family room/ school room is in it's usual state of "Category 3 Hurricane."

One of my favorite things~
waking up before the sun and having quiet time with the Lord and then watching the sunrise. For the past few weeks, I've been missing both. It just isn't the same when I have my quiet time later in the morning...

From my picture journal...

My very first sweater attempt. It was so satisfying to see little Ezra wearing it on church Sunday.
Like, I was soooo surprised just how satisfying it was.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sorry you have a rumbly tumbly. Feel better quick for Turkey Day!

I sooo know what you mean about blogging. I'm taking a REAL and MEANINGFUL approach these days. Who cares what's on my Menu...or how shiny my kitchen floors are (NOT)!

School is on the Blogging List...but right now I feel very blah about school. I can't get into this whole RtR thing...

Have a blessed Thanksgiving M family, I count you as one of the blessings in my life!

I took a 3-month blogging sabbatical last summer and still rarely post. :-) I did withdraw completely from Facebook in early summer and am sooo glad I did. And I am constantly purging and simplifying.

The scarf I'm knitting is sadly neglected. :)

Hey Brenna, if you ever want to come and sit and knit-- you are welcome!

Kathi, thank you for wishing my tummy better. Your family is a blessing to us too!

BTW, I actually appreciated your menus-- I'm dinner challenged!

Give up blogging????? You're kidding, right??????????
I'm trying to give up caffeine. If I have to give up reading you blog, too, I don't know what will happen.
I'm not sure my heart will be able to take it.

TK! Girl, you make me laugh.

Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere until the Lord says so ;)
