For Today, Monday October 12th, 2009...

Outside my window... it looks like it will be a perfect Fall day.
Yesterday was absolute perfection!

I am thinking... about a verse from 1 Thessalonians...

Now we exhort you, brethren,
• warn them that are unruly
•comfort the feebleminded
•support the weak
•be patient toward all

See that none render evil for evil unto any;
but ever follow that which is good,
both among yourselves (the church/believers),
and to all.

('All' seems like an extra big word when it means not holding grudges, not being bitter, extending kindness and grace)

Rejoice evermore.
Pray without ceasing.
In everything (not FOR everything but IN everything) give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Quench not the Spirit
(the Spirit points to Jesus-- to quench the Spirit is to turn our face away from Him I think)

Despise not prophesyings.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

I am thankful for... God's faithfulness to me and to the correction of His word. He keeps me safe...

I am also thankful I seem to have a better "groove" going on... now to stay healthy :)

I am wearing... a navy blue cable-knit dress with leggings underneath and a black and white apron!

I am reading... my grammar book. I took the beginning assessment last night and scored an 89%--Apparently, I have more than a few things to learn.

I am hoping... to sit more at the feet of my Lord this week and really walk in His love for me.

I am creating... a little knit sweater! I love Fall-- time for yarn :)

I am praying... for so many people... for wives to give themselves freely to their husbands in a physical way, regularly and passionately, without waiting for them to some how "earn" it. I hope every wife knows that the physical relationship with her husband is of the utmost important to God and the kingdom of Heaven.

Around the house... we purged, we shopped, we purged some more. Karl even cleaned out the garage this weekend. I still want to purge even more. I really feel motivated to pare things down to bare minimum.

From the kitchen... I'm making buttermilk and a sourdough starter.

Our dinners for this week are:

Monday (Crockpot)- Beef Bourginon
Tuesday- Sesame Chicken Salad with Ginger Dressing
Wednesday- EJ's Simple Meatball Soup
Thursday- Beef Daube Provencal
Friday- Fish-whatever is fresh that day.

Apparently I'm in the mood for protein! I better start hunting for vegetable dishes for next week :)

One of my favorite Kitchen Aid stand mixer. My mom got me one a couple of years ago and it's a little work horse!

A few plans for the rest of the week... School, the usual lessons and purging more stuff.

Here is a picture thought I'm sharing with you...

I think we're learning about bridges this week. A friend took this when visiting Israel.

Thanks for sharing your daybook. I always enjoy reading yours ;) Purging is a beautiful thing, in my opinion. Your verses at the beginning really spoke to me dealing with a situation we have going on here at home, thanks for sharing them. ALL is a big word...ouch!Anywho, have a great week and keep up the great blogging!

I truly enjoy reading your daybook! As always, I appreciate you being so open and honest. Powerful words shared about our physical relationships with our husbands.

I love fall for knitting as well, can't seem to really do it during the warm weather. I can already smell that bread from here. :)

Looking for something??
