Shout Out!

Please bear with me, with us... we're getting an eensy, weensy tiny bit--
excited.

James 1:17 says:

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
and cometh down from the Father of lights,
with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Make no mistake about it, we understand that all our blessings are coming from the Lord.

But the Lord, incredibly, often chooses to use people, willing people, as a vehicle for His blessing.

Lately, there have been many willing people, used by God, to shower blessing on us.

I just want to publicly say thank you and acknowledge what they have done for us...

The Tualatin Historical Society has graciously donated the use of their facility,
Tualatin Heritage Center, for all three showings of our film.

Because they are not charging us, we do not have to charge admission for the film.
That was very important to Leisl and I and we are grateful that the Lord blessed us in that way.

We also wanted to have cards and flyers printed to help get the word out.

Papa just walked in from bible study and handed us these:

Scott at Minuteman Press very generously offered to not only make the cards but the flyers too-- without charge.

And what is a movie without popcorn??

I looked into renting a popcorn machine like this...

But our former church, Solid Rock, with people we love dearly and think are totally awesome, yup you guessed it, are loaning us their popcorn machine for free.

And...

And they are donating the popcorn and the bags!

Now postcards, flyers and popcorn aren't Eternal in and of themselves.
But all along the way, in this crazy adventure, our children have prayed very specific prayers.

"Lord please allow us to use the Heritage Center for free so we can bless other people."

"Lord will You touch someone to donate the cards and flyers?"

"Lord help us to find a popcorn machine we can borrow."

And in only the way He can, He goes above and beyond all we could ask or think and now we have popcorn and bags too.

The funny thing is... these "tangible" things we've prayed for are just assurances for us that He hears us and will continue to bless us and answer the other prayers.

These other prayers we will have to trust to the Lord completely... we have no control over hearts being softened and lives being changed.

Only the Lord can prepare a heart to receive the Good News, His Good News.

Good news that He has made a way for a fallen, sinful people to come into His holy presence.

Good news that we are no longer orphans and wayward sheep.
Instead we now have a Good Shepherd to lead us, guide us and care for us.

Good news that because of the innocent blood of Jesus we, who accept and believe, are free from the bonds of sin.

As details fall into place one by one, these are the prayers that remain in our hearts and on our lips.

No matter how many or how few show up to these showings, we know we have offered up everything we have to the Lord to bless Him.

We used what we have, what He has given to us, and did the very best we could to bring Him glory.

We know that He does not "break a bruised reed or quench smoking flax" and that He will continue to grow the faith of these children and these families because He is good.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness,
and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
Psalm 107:8

Lord, thank You for Your goodness to me and to my children and the children of this neighborhood.

Thank You that You are and will continue to grow their faith in who You are and how You love us.

Thank You Lord for giving us the opportunity to work with purpose to give You pleasure.

Thank You for being so good to us.

May we grow in grace, mercy and love and to You may we give the glory.
Amen.
