Rome To Reformation: Orientation Day

We have been having a fun morning of orientation for school.

With me being gone for the last two weeks and working on the movie before that,
I am just now getting prepared for our year.

But as of right now things are good!

I photocopied all our student materials and the kiddos stuffed them into sheet protectors.
They also labeled their dividers and made covers for their binder folders.

Here are Brigitta's binders:

She drew this herself and we all thought it way super cool.

And this is a cover I printed for all three of their history binders:

We also found this groovy bookcase that has a very small footprint and will be used to house all the books we will use for this year. We liked it so much we bought another one for Leisl to put next to her bed since she always has stacks and stacks of books there.

Since it is a holiday and we aren't "doing anything" until tonight, Karl sat down with Leisl and walked her through her new math (Saxon) and the awesome DIVE CD that is her "teacher" and also her Apologia Science and that CD-ROM virtual teacher.

She even did her first experiment on density of atoms. I thought it was so cool I drew an illustration of it too :)

Since she is doing a different science than the other two this year, she is going to have her own video science "Corner." We taped this first experiment and I will post it right after this one.

The whiteboard is almost up, my brain is almost awake :) and it feels so good to be "back" to school.

Am I the only one that hasn't "officially" started school??

Hey Sandi you'll have to let me know your blog address when you get up and running!

Kysha! Isn't the bookcase the coolest? The Container store of all places. I am so excited for this year. I was so encouraged to get moving after I saw your Weekly Report :)

Today, we came back from camping with our homeschool co-op, and our box with MFW Adventures in it had been delivered while we were gone. We're starting next week! :)

Looking for something??
