A Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today, Monday August 17th, 2009...

Outside my window... the sun is making a repeat performance! It should be 93 ˚ tomorrow and 96 ˚ on Wednesday.

I am thinking... of lists. Lots of lists are running through my head of things that need to be done. Underneath it all, I am thinking of how patient the Lord is and how impatient I am. It is definite the "load of laundry" I have going right now.

I am thankful for... my husband. It sounds mushy and gushy but he really is a stand-up guy and couldn't dream of a better husband for me and father to our children.

I am wearing... black yoga pants and t-shirt. I am uncharacteristically casual for a Monday.

I am reading... the usual... Footsteps of Flock at night, assorted passages in bible at different times throughout the day. My brain is too distracted for much else.

I am hoping... that Dr. Braman (who helped me tremendously) will be able to help Kurt with his headaches. He has his first appointment on Thursday.

I am creating... a wedding invitation still, packets of stuff that we will need for school and trying to create an organized place of learning before we officially start school.

I am praying... about what to share on Saturday out at 5 Rock. I'm also continuing to pray for my brother and handful of people I know are hurting right now.

Around the house... the laundry is just about done. I tackled the Master bathroom and our bedroom this weekend. That feels great! And after we finish up the LAST of the interior shots on Tuesday, we are finally, finally going to be able to return the upstairs to a home and not a movie set.

From the kitchen... Tonight we'll have leftover chili from last night. Tuesday- Adobo • Wednesday- Tacos • Thursday- Spaghetti • Friday- Salmon

One of my favorite things... making homemade play dough. With the recipe I use, the dough lasts for months without getting slimy or weird. We just store it in a gallon Ziploc bag. A "shoe bin" from the Dollar Store works great too.

**Play Dough Recipe**

4 Cups Water
(if you want to color it- add food coloring to water)

4 Cups flour

8 tsps Cream of Tartar

4 Tbls Oil

2 Cups Salt

Put all ingredients into a large pot, cook on medium heat stirring constantly
( and yes it will take a little muscle at the very end).

Cook until firm like play dough. It should look dry.

Roll the lump of dough onto a work surface (counter or place mat)
until it's cool enough to touch.

Once you start "working" the dough, the texture becomes nice and smooth.

Have fun!

A few plans for the rest of the week... The kiddos have swimming four times this week, the girls have a neighborhood bible study, violin for all three, the last of indoor filming on Tuesday and major furniture re-arranging Tuesday night. Wed- eye therapy for the two and errands. Thursday- Dr.'s appoint and church in the evening. Fri- errands and Saturday- Karl and I are out at 5 Rock in the morning.

Busy week :)

Here is a picture thought I'm sharing with you...

If you can believe it, we've been editing already. It's almost completely done being edited (film wise). Next comes sound and writing and laying down the music.

So glad you're available! I just may take you up on that :)
