What We're Doing 2009-2010

I can't believe I haven't posted this yet. Wait, yes I can... we've been so busy :)

But here it is... our 2009-2010 school year.

We are in the third year of the five year cycle with My Father's World. Continuing in our chronological study through history using the bible as the spine and integrating world history, we are studying from Rome to the Reformation.

Some of our read alouds:

Music (in addition to their usual violin lessons/music theory):

Science (for the younger two--grades 3 & 5):

Science for our 7th grader:

Last year we did Greek root words. This year we will learn Latin roots with:

Brigitta will be in Singapore Math levels 4A and 4A. Kurt will be in 2A and 2B.
This year Leisl makes the switch from Singapore to Saxon with Math 8/7 complete with a daily lesson plan put together by MFW and the DIVE CD which teaches the lessons.

Most of our language arts are built into the program but Brigitta will continue with and Kurt will start Spelling Power as well as continuing to work through Intermediate and Primary Language Lessons, respectively, as well as Writing Strands.

I t looks like a full year and I can't wait to get started!
