Time for Nana-isms!

Nana is getting pretty good at catching herself these days. She's been slowing down before speaking (a very good reminder and model for all of us I'm sure) and really thinking through her words.

She says she is second guessing how she talks now because I've made her conscious.

But, apparently she wasn't very self-conscious while I was out of town. Probably because she thought I couldn't blog about it (hee hee).

So Papa, being oh so helpful to me, jotted down a few of his favorites and emailed them to me.

(insert feigned innocence here)

I also recorded a few of my own that I was saving to share. Now seems a good a time as any.

Here we go...

I called Nana up and asked her what she was doing.

She said she was cleaning up her house, paying bills and taking care of
"odds and pieces."

Hee hee :)

And then there was the day she was remarking on someone's resemblance to their uncle.
"Oh, Lain, you should see him! He is the split image of his uncle. Looks just like him!"

Ma, do you mean to say spittin' image?

"Yeah, that's what I said, "split image."

On the way to the airport, Kurt asked her for a sip of water from her water bottle.
She handed him the bottle but added a little reminder.
" Now make sure you don't back-spit, no, no that's not it... back-drop? Nooo, oh yeah, back-wash!"

We all cheered.

And I wish I had been there for this last one. I don't know the context of the conversation exactly but she must have been talking about different styles of cars.

According to Nana, cars without a trunk are called,

I laughed so hard, I couldn't breathe.

LOL. I wish I was a fly on the wall for some of your conversations.

OH yes you do Kysha...they are HILLARIOUS!! I don't have to do anything to be entertained while at their house...if the kids are doing something cool and fun (or funny) then Nana comes in or Lainie and I start up. The good times just never end:) ehheheheh
