Today's Bulletin

I'm sitting here at my computer going over the bulletin for church today.

Pastor Jim and I communicate with a flash drive and sometime on Saturday it makes it's way into my hot little hand so I can print and fold our church bulletins for Sunday evening's service.

I was reading the portion of the bulletin that he writes and changes each week. It was such a blessing to me that I had to share it with you.

I hope you all have a wonderful day of rest and may the Lord bless your week.

Now a message from Pastor Jim:

...for you have not passed this way before. Joshua 3:4
... prepare to meet your God... Amos 4:12

This first Sunday of this new-year we have many dates and events already scheduled... some already even on our calendar, others only in our mind at this point.

Yet who would dare argue, that not one of us has any idea what really is to come this year.

There really is only one certainty of comfort and that is the unchanging marvelous nature of God.

It is Jesus who is the same yesterday, today and forever. It is the Word of God, in which Jesus is found which is unchanging and eternal.

In the above noted verse Joshua records the frank reality that he and the people with him were entering uncharted territory. We are entering uncharted territory this very day... as Joshua records for us also we have not passed this way before.

The pen in the hand of the old prophet Amos wisely exhorts to prepare to meet your God. We have not been this way before, it will have variance... only God knows the way.

Our task is to follow Him and avoid the tendency to lean on our own understanding. What does that require... humility... that we walk humbly with our God! Who better to walk with, than He who knows our days, our frame and our needs better than even we!

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
