Midnight Chat: His Mercy Endures Forever

Psalm 136: 1-9 & DVD Giveaway deadline is Today, Monday December 22nd at 5pm PST (to enter simply leave a comment).

(Sorry for the distortion-- when I upload it's all stretched out)

These are all available on iTunes and they are formatted fine on there...

Read this after viewing the video.

I thought about this after I finished up this morning... That God's mercy is most clearly seen in the provision of His Son Jesus who is the Light of the world.

The Star of Bethlehem is the name of the video that I refer to and more information can be found here:

We bought a few of them for gifts and The Captain and I decided this morning that we would make one copy of it a giveaway here on Mishmash!

How exciting, my very first giveaway.

So, to enter, please leave a comment telling me if you're in a "day time" or a "night time" season before 5pm Pacific on Monday December 22nd, 2008.

I'll announce the winner on Tuesday morning (Lord willing).

Winner will be selected by "random" drawing i.e. I'll put all your names in a hat and have The Captain pick one (unless of course a very large number of people enter--which I highly doubt).

If we get an unmanageable number of entries I'll use like everyone else :)

On a side note, I was thinking the other day about why I call these "Midnight Chats" since they aren't usually right at midnight. I realized that at midnight (12 am) both "hands" of the clock are raised straight up towards heaven. It 's a visual reminder to me to have the clock of my heart set at midnight :)

There is nothing like speaking out the Word of the Lord, as I was speaking out the responsive part "for His mercy endures forever". It just gave me the chills and brought a tear to my eyes. Thank you Lord that Your Word is living, and that You live in us!!! That you give us hope even when things seem like they are forever dark.

I would say I am mostly in a daytime season which is FANTASTIC since I feel like I had a long night time season. The Lord has done so many amazing things in my life this year, so many places of healing. I feel overwhelmed and so thankful for His unending love!!!

Thank you for sharing your insight with us...and even the reminder that the Lord doesn't require us reading 5 chapters a day, and doing 2 in depth Bible Studies and Women's breakfasts, etc. That He can meet us in the small everyday faithful moments in His Word, just as much as any other.

That totally blessed me, Mom!

I'm so glad you do these videos. They're totally blessed, and they ARE a blessing.

I'm mostly in a daytime season, too. I feel like I can really hear the Lord, and the things I've been struggling with seem to not be a struggle anymore. (Don't include me in the giveaway thing- after all we already have a copy! Hee hee!)

I love you!

Thanks you two! You're both so sweet.

Leisl my dear, thank you for taking the time to watch/read posts. It blesses me to see your eagerness to be a part of this whole bloggy thing. You have been supportive from day one and have never made me feel like I've left you a "bloggy orphan"-- you're just sweet and encouraging like you always are... I love that.

I'm definitely in a day time season...maybe I should enter myself in this giveaway and keep the DVD! :)

Totally cool post! I had to view it in installments because I just don't have 25 minutes of uninterrupted time in my life these days.

That being said, I have felt for a long while that I am living in a night time season. I think I'm maybe approaching the dawn:-) but still not quite to daytime yet. I fought it at first and was quite miserable and upset about it. Now, I've learned to live in the night time. I feel God's love all around me, and even on the especially dark days, I can see the stars and the moon and I am reminded of His love and mercy for me. I am hopeful that the daytime will return. And I certainly have lighter days than others.

I know I'm too late for the drawing, but I still wanted to post and to let you know how much I love your Midnight Chats!

Love you,

Lainie, I know that I'm REALLY late in commenting, but I just finally found a few moments in which to finish listening to the last half of your Midnight Chat What encouragement. I find myself most definitely in the midst of a dark night-time in my life right now. But you have ever-so-gently reminded me that (praise Him!) daylight always follows the night. The darkest hour is just before the dawn - and I am bolstered by your encouraging words and will carry your reminder with me throughout these days. God is always good, alway true and everything He allows in life is for His good and my growth. Thank you for allowing Him to use you in this powerful way and once again, I am thankful for sisters in Christ like you who (whether you know it or not) come alongside and help me in my Walk.
With deepest thanks,
