Tuesday Night Prayer

It is vain for you to rise up early,
To retire late,
To eat the bread of painful labors;
For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.
Psalm 127:2

I've been enjoying resting in the Lord. I hope you have too.

Too often I work in my own strength forgetting that it is Jesus that is at work in me and through me.

Why is it so hard to walk in grace?

Why do we try to earn favor with God?

He has already given us more than we deserve or could ever earn through His Son Jesus.

It is my prayer tonight that we would all be able to rest in Him and the love He gives us.

I wish I could remember the people group and language but I can't. But there were translators that struggled with translating John 3:16:

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever shall believe in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."

They couldn't find the right word(s) for love. The words they came across were words like "authority." (For God so had authority over the world...)

Nothing translated God's heart accurately until they asked a woman what word would describe a mother's feelings towards her newborn baby.

Ahhhh. Now, they had it.

The translation eventually read,

"For God has placed the world in His heart, that whosoever should believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Beloved, do you know that God has placed you in His heart?

Rest in His love and receive all that He has for you.

Mmm, thank you for that! Just got back from an early morning walk with Roo and then sat down with my cup of coffee to check your blog. What a nice reminder this morning that God loves me! Have a great day!

I like this verse...being such a works oriented person myself, that is a good word for me. To relax and just do the next thing the Lord has for me to do. Why is that so stinkin hard to do. It is so easy to get caught up in the "To Do" lists, even in the "To Be" lists. The only things that last are the things Christ does in me anyways. So hard to find a balance of not being slothful, yet resting in what the Lord is doing. That would be my prayer for this week and FOREVER..:) It seems like a lesson I have to keep re-learning .

And you? What would your prayer request be for this week?

Dear Lord, Thank you for Ann and the gifts you've given her. I pray that she would always be at rest in her spirit even when her body is very busy. I pray that she would abide in You and trust You to guide her and direct her. I pray that her works would yield fruit as she is simply a vessel for You working through her.

Help her to perform her work with joy in her heart as an act of service to You Jesus.

Bless her and power her by Your Holy Spirit.

We pray in Your name Jesus,
Amen.

Thanks for asking about me.

If you could pray that I would continue to de-clutter our home and my brain. I would like to live as simply as possible and be as focused as possible. If that makes sense ;)

Dear Lord,

I lift up my Lainie, that You will continue to give her a vision of what her home is to look like, how it is to run, and what is necessary and what is just getting in the way. I also pray for energy to complete these things and for a family vision so that everyone will be of the same mind.

I thank You so much for all the ways You have shown Lainie how to deal with her house and her life. I praise You that You care so much in even the smallest details of our lives.

Thank you Lord for the blessing that Lainie is to all of us, and for speaking Your truth through her so often. I know You love her with an everlasting love, and have great plans for her Lord, in Your time and Your way. May Your peace just fill her heart and mind Father so that their will be no room for anything but what You have for her.

We love You Lord.
Amen

Jesus we know You are sovereign over all-even over refrigerators. We also know that You will give us wisdom for everything. I ask for Mary Lou that You would give her wisdom in regards to this appliance that is pivotal for the care and nurturing of her family. We know You are the God who provides and the God who performs miracles. May Your will be done.

We humbly ask You would increase her testimony to Your faithful provision through this situation.

Thank You for being a God that cares about even the smallest details in our life.

Bring glory to Yourself and we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
