"Awake, you that are sleepy, and ponder your deeds;
remember your Creator and go to Him for forgiveness.
Don't be like those who miss reality in their hunt after shadows,
and waste your years in seeking after vain things
which can neither profit or deliver.
Look well to your souls and consider your deeds;
let each one of you forsake His evil ways and thoughts,
and return unto the Lord,
so that He may have mercy on you."

Rosh Hashanah is a call to wake-up spiritually. The Hebrew 4 Christians site has more information if you're interested and you can hear a real shofar. It's beautiful!
Here the kids are making their shofars. Although after hearing the haunting, timeless sound of a real shofar these were a little bit of a let down. Leisl wants a real one--soon! I better work on the cardio so I can blow it! hee hee

Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.

In the spirit of Rosh Ha Shanah, song #2 on the CD I made for Brigitta is called "All Things New" by Andrew Peterson. The chorus is "Rise up oh you sleeper awake. He makes all things new".
