Number 158

I have a number. Weird.

Julie B. picked up and delivered to my front door my runner's packet complete with number. (She also supplied the outfit. Thank you Julie, who "accidentally" ran 19 miles the other day!!)

I'm number 158. I'm about to go to bed so I am well rested but I wanted to show off my number. [insert cheesy grin here]

Leisl looked through her bible when we got home from another fine dinner courtesy Mamahollioni. She read all "chapter 15 verse 8" verses. We liked Proverbs and John the best. So on the back on my number, facing me, I wrote,
"Proverb 15:8 The sacrifice of wicked is an abomination to the Lord; But the prayer of the upright is His delight."
And, John 15:8 "My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be my disciples."

Race time is 8:00am. All prayers much appreciated!

Did I mention I abhor wearing shorts in public due to deep seated,
traumatic childhood experiences? Yeah, thought I might have forgotten to mention that. Since we're bringing up childhood may I add I have asthma, scar tissue on my lungs from a complete pneumothorax (hole in the lung) of my right superior, middle and lower lobes, arthritis, and bunions on both feet? Eight surgeries? I'm 41 and I've only been running since July 9th?

I think I should write another verse on my number: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Phil 4:13

Thanks for all the encouragement and general cheer leading: Karl, kiddos, Andrea, Kim, Holli, Tia, Laura, Julie B., Stacey, and everyone at church especially sweet Julie C, Kathy, Vincente, David, Ellie Mae, Kristina, the list goes on and on. It means more than you know.

You did AWESOME!!!! I am so proud of you...I was so teary eyed when you crossed through to the finish line...you gave a little sprint at the end.

That is how I see you...you live your life spiritually sometimes, running, sometimes walking, sometimes needing a "potty break" to get the toxins out...but girl you always go forward...and I know you will finish well!!!

I like that you called your bib, your number...I looked up Numbers 15:8 "when you prepare a bull as a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to fulfill a special vow, or for peace offerings to the Lord".

Sounds strange...but not if you start in verse 2-3...

"speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'when you enter the land where you are to live, which I am giving you, then make an offering by fire to the Lord".

Girl...you have entered the land where you are to live, the land of healing for your body, and I would well imagine everything was burning by the time you crossed the line, so a sacrifice was made. :) hehehehehe

All that to say....number 158 you are more than a conquerer!!!
