Nana and Star Wars

Nana is trying to jump into the Star Wars fever that has gripped our house. Leisl in particular is fascinated by the story, the movies and the making-of-the-movies. She has only seen the originally three movies. However, she has read the stories and has watched the making-of-the-movies on DVD.

Nana went out yesterday and purchased Episodes 1,2 and 3. The Captain and I haven't decided when we will let Leisl watch those movies but today we are taking Leisl, Brigitta and assorted friends to watch the Clone Wars.

At the breakfast table this morning, Nana and Leisl were discussing the finer points of Episode 1 and in true Nana fashion came up with her own vernacular.

Leisl asked, "Wasn't the pod race so cool?!"

Nana: "The Padres? They're doing terrible this year!"

Oh, help us.

Finally, she thought Darth Vader was Anakin's father. Once we explained that Anakin became Darth Vader and Luke is his son, she became very animated and said, "Oooh, just like Buzz Lightyear and Zurg!" Yes Nana, exactly.
